Overview
Nept Inc. ("Nept," "we," "us," or "our") operates Nept Cloud, a platform for building, deploying, managing, and monitoring software projects. This Privacy Policy applies to Nept Cloud, our websites, and related services that link to this policy (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you use Nept for an organization, that organization may control project data and your access to it.

How we use information

- Import, build, deploy, operate, and monitor projects and databases.
- Provide AI-assisted development features and preserve conversation history.
- Process purchases, subscriptions, credits, and usage-based billing.
- Provide support, investigate bugs, and communicate service information.
- Measure reliability and usage, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms.
- Comply with law and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Nept and others.
Where required by law, we rely on performance of our contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations as our bases for processing.
Connected services
When you sign in with Google, Nept receives identity information such as your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier. Our authorization configuration may also request permission for Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Calendar. If authorized, those permissions allow Nept to access the Google Workspace data covered by the consent screen. Nept only accesses or uses such data to provide a user-facing feature you request; it is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train or improve generalized AI or machine-learning models.
Nept's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke Nept's Google access from your Google Account permissions.
GitHub
When you connect GitHub, Nept may receive your profile, email, organizations, repository details and contents, branches, commits, and an authorization token. We use this access to show repositories, import project code, read project context, and perform repository actions you request, such as creating a fork. You can revoke access in your GitHub settings.
AI features
When you use Nept's AI features, prompts, responses, selected source-code context, model choices, and usage metadata may be sent through our AI gateway to the model provider needed to produce a response. Nept stores conversations and related usage records so you can continue your work and so we can provide and bill for the feature.
Do not submit personal information or secrets that are not needed for your request. AI providers process submitted content under their applicable terms and Nept's service arrangements. Google Workspace data is not used to create, train, or improve generalized AI models.
Retention
We retain information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain billing and transaction records, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and prevent abuse.
Deleting a project removes associated project records through our deletion workflow, including its current stored source archive when applicable. Limited copies may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, or records we must retain. Retention periods vary by the information's purpose and legal or operational requirements.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These include encrypted network connections, access controls, monitoring, and encryption or hashing for certain credentials and access keys. No system can guarantee absolute security, so you should also protect your account and immediately report suspected unauthorized access.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; or withdraw consent. You will not be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights.
You can delete projects through the Service and revoke connected accounts through Google or GitHub. For account-level requests, email us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some information may be retained where permitted or required by law.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
International processing
Nept and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where we or they operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our Service or legal obligations change. We will post the updated policy here and change the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required.
